Now A days everybody owns a mobile phone with camera.And it is really interesting and simple to use your mobile phone camera as webcam for your yahoo,gtalk or any other messenger. So if you dont have a webcam and doesnot want to waste money on buying a new one then this is the best solution for you.
In this Android era we can’t ignore another mobile operating system named “Symbian”. This operating is currently maintained by Nokia and basically used in Nokia phones. Symbian Operating system was originally developed by Symbian Ltd. Like Android Symbian also supports many useful applications for mobile. “EpocCam Pro” is one of that. Using this app here I am going to describe you how to use your Symbian mobile as a webcam.
If you have not any webcam with your Desktop or in your Laptop, then you might miss something fun. But don’t worry. Don’t need to buy any webcam if you have just a Symbian handset. EpocCam Pro turns your Symbian Smartphone into a HD webcam and you can share your magical moments using your mobile camera. EpocCam was developed by Kinoni. It is Compatible with Skype, MSN Live Messenger, YouTube and with many other applications.
Requirements:-
1. You need A Symbian Mobile Phone (Mainly Nokia mobile)
2. A Desktop or a Laptop.
3. Nokia OVI Suite and a Data cable to connect.
4. An Internet Connection for live experience.
Installation Procedure: -
1. Install Nokia Ovi Suite from Nokia website.
2. Install EpocCam Symbian application from Nokia Ovi Store.
3. Install EpocCam Windows drivers from here. The same drivers work for both Lite and Pro versions.
4. Connect USB cable between your phone and PC.
5. On phone choose connection mode "PC Suite" if asked.
6. Start EpocCam application on your phone.
7. Start EpocCam Viewer or any other webcam-enabled application on your PC.
To verify functionality you can use EpocCam Test Application. This application can be started from Start Menu -> Programs -> EpocCam -> EpocCam Test. Remember to quit EpocCam Test application before using EpocCam with other applications as only one application can use camera at a time.
Uninstallation: -
Use Windows control panel or uninst.exe on EpocCam installation folder. Before uninstallation make sure all the applications using EpocCam (Skype, MSN Live Messenger etc) are closed, otherwise you may need to restart the computer.
