New Telecom Policy Proposal for India 2011

Kapil Sibal, has bought up a new bonanza for Indian Teleconsumers
The Motto of the new Telecom Policy is "One Nation ! One Mobile No. ! One Tarrif !"

"One Nation ! One Mobile No. ! One Tarrif !" ? Telecommunications Minister Kapil Sibal released a draft of new telecom policy. According to the new draft policy mobile users will not have to pay any charge for roaming as well as mobile users can change any service provider in every corner of India with the same number
In fact the target of the policy is to create “one country, one license” system. Which will end the difference between the local and STD calls. Telecom operators, operating in different parts of the country will not need license individually and they can work with a universal license in all over the India.
Sibal said “We ask for suggestions from the telecom regulator TRAI about the companies working under the old license to involve or to exit from market.”After keeping in mind the 2G spectrum scam minister said that spectrum allocation will be taken away from licenses and the spectrum will be available on the market value.

Kapil Sibal said the government wants to increase the telephone density in the country by 2011 which is 74 percent currently. He also announced to set ambitious targets for broadband. He set the traget of 500 MHz spectrum in the whole country by 2017. He said that now the spectrum license is ten years longer term.

Kapil Sibal praised the government telecom companies BSNL and MTNL and discuss about their contribution to delivering the call in the villages. Telecom companies would harm to be roaming free. Bharati Airtel has to face 4-5 percent loss, Idea Cellular has to face 8-9 percent loss, Reliance Communications has to face 7 percent loss and Vodafone, BSNL, Docomo also have to face loss in their profit due to be roaming free in all over the India. Amit Sachdeva of expert Ernst Young said the telecom companies will not have to face so much damage after free roaming in India.

Note : Consumers might have to wait a while before they can take the benefits of free roaming in the whole of India.
